amanshowman asked:

The said employee manages to sit around, doest help with cleaning up, and doesn’t even wear the required uniform. The boss does nothing about it, and I have no idea where to turn to. All of the other employees are tired of doing the extra work that he refuses to do. Hes basically getting paid to come to work and sit around.

hime kyou ayashi faerudo ayanami asked:

An employee has been incurring frequent absenteeism in violation of the company’s Code of Discipline. Upon review of his files, progressive disciplinary measures had been undertaken (verbal warning, written reprimand, temporary suspension of 5 days, then 10 days and 15 days suspension with last chance warning) including corrective interventions (counseling and enhancing worker satisfaction). However, the employee continued to incur absences and may file a legal case before the Labor Arbiter if he gets terminated from employment.

What is the difference between indefinate suspension and firing an employee?

Mel asked:

My boss tells employees to look for another job whenever she feels she has been challenged or simply does not like that employee. most do quit, but a few try to work through the problems.
She does not want to cause the hospital additional costs, so when an employee refuses to quit, she suspends them indefinately.
Does this mean that the employee cannot collect unemplyment or Cobra benefits?

Val T asked:

What are the employment protection agencies are there in the Washington state? I have a family member who gets abused by her boss, who fabricates false information to her boss in order to fire her. I know that there are government agencies that protect employees from this kind of abuse by meeting and talking with them and consult on how to deal with these kind of issues. I cannot find them anywhere though. Can you help me, please? Thank you in advance.

Karma asked:

Hello!
I recently graduated from law school and now have a J.D.
I don’t plan on taking the bar exam until February, but am seeking meaningful employment. Any ideas as to what types of jobs are out there for people with a J.D. not practicing law? I hope to stay in the legal field until I can become an attorney, but what can I do in the meantime?

If an employee performs a service but we were unable to collect payment, do we have to pay commission?

desertpoetess asked:

Typically, an employee is paid a commission plus a service charge. On occasion, a client walks out without paying or their credit card declines after they’ve left. We make every attempt to collect while the customer is present or charge their room later, but sometimes we’re left holding the bag. The employees feel that they performed the service and should be paid. Is anyone familiar with Nevada law? I’ve done research but can’t find an answer!

How do you handle an employee that refuses to travel (a known job requirement) due to lack of childcare?

MATHR asked:

There is a project that requires several trips over the course of a two month period. The employee has “blacked out” 5 weeks that they are unable to travel due to lack of childcare which will cause major project delays. Specific meetings have not been scheduled so the employee has not outright refused travel but we would like communicate that lack of childcare is not an acceptable reason for not traveling. All meetings are scheduled with a minimum of two weeks notice so adequate time is being given for arrangements to be made on the employee’s part.
