Employment?

Jester asked:

I am currently a student majoring in Finance. I am scheduled to graduate this December. However, I am very concerned about how “employable” I am because my job history is not very impressive.

This is what it looks like:
Job X April 2005-June 2006
Job Y September 2003-March 2004
Job Z July 2001- July 2002

I have a letter of recommendation from job Z, but I was let go from, job Y & I quit job X but on very bad terms.

The gaps in my employment between Z & Y were due to taking time out to attend school full time and earn my associate’s degree. I was also very involved in school organizations such as Phi Theta Kappa and student government.

The gap between Y and X was because my spouse was in a very bad accident and needed my constant assistance. (They are doing much better now).

I am hoping that someone with hiring experience can give me some advice.

Thanks for your time.

How do you get sleep when working 2 full time jobs?

mb2 asked:

I know that I’m not the only CRAZY person in this world, but I am about to start working 2 full time jobs (9am-5.30pm & 11pm – 7am) as a Secretary and a Hotel Front desk Host. I’ve always had 1 full time and 1 part time job, so I’m used to distributing my energy that way.
How should I plan my day? Travel time (one way) to work is roughly 15 minutes. I can dress the same way to both jobs.

Help?

How do you try to leave a job where your boss is very manipulative?

Sameera A asked:

You know your boss needs you, you don’t have another job lined up, but you can’t deal with the job anymore. It’s emotionally exhausting, it doesn’t help your professional reputation in the long haul, you don’t get paid jack, and you feel like your boss is using you. When you try to quit, your boss plays dumb or acts all manipulative. What is one to do?
One more thing…I can’t think of something good about my job other than “something to do”…sad, isn’t it? Another thing, my boss (who’s the employer) is anything but professional…not sure if he’ll pay attention to the two week notice I already gave him

How does the Macys employee discount work?

amanda m asked:

I just got a job at Macys…they haven’t explained the employee discount to me yet, so I need to know. They pay practically nothing (this is by far the lowest I’ve been paid in my life), and if the discount isn’t good I might not go to training. Do I need to use my Macys credit card? What departments don’t get discounts? Can I use the discount at sister stores?
I’ve previously read that you need to have the credit card to get the discount. I know it’s 20% but it doesn’t include all departments. If Coach and Movado aren’t included, I’m out of there.

null asked:

What is wrong with me? I am 30 years old and I cant seem to find a job. Any job for that matter. I got a BS in Law and Government, I am a certified paralegal, I interned for the District Attorney and I volunteer with the NYPD and I am a part of the precient community council and I cant get work.

I tried for those retail jobs and the managers dont want to hire me because I got too much education, other places wont hire me because Im guessing they think I have too little education. Where is there a medium? Monster is no help, as well as HotJobs and ther other sites.

They say you need to make money to have money. I send out resumes and cover letter and I still get nothing. Any help?
